unemployment question
do you ladies know of a website to find out unemployment info. I wanted to find out how much I am eligible for as my job was discontinued and also wanted to know how long I can collect.

I think you can look on NYS dept of labor website and unless changed it used to be for up to 24 weeks, but you do need to sometimes show your actively searching for new work as well.

Depends on how much you made but $405/week is current maximum rate.

I was laid off last year. I reveived the maximum 405 and you can only get it for 6 months..no extensions anymore...
go to the NYS dept. of labor

you can get an extension if you go back to school F/T. My friend was laid off from our job and she just got her 9ths months umemployment. They will continue it for up to 12 months if you go to school f/t. She went back to finish her bach's.
