Ugh,, the vomitting!! Reaction to veggies anyone?
DD has 3 shots today, DTAP, Pneumoncal (sp) and her flu shot this am.
i gave her carrots for the 1st time today, oh boy about 2 hours later, she vomits 3 separate times all over me, her, her room, my bed. She turned white, scary white and her eyes got her red. So freaky for us!
She's okay now, and down for the night, but i never saw a reaction like this before, she never gets reactions to the shots.
DR says it's the carrots and not theshots, and I believe her, but as anyone else's DC had a reaction to carrots?

Could be either really. Is this the first time for carrots? Our pedi has us hold off on carrots until like 9 months, I guess ebcause they contain nitrates.  Not sure why!

We were told to start with carrot as long as they were organic. I use earth's best, they do not contain nitrates or any other preservative besides citric acid (vit C).

IT was her 1st time with carrots
She loved them though, i feel so bad. I am going to check the jar, they were reg. beechnut stage 1.
It was so gross cleaning this stuff up for an hour of puking!
Our dr didn't tell us an order, just veggies, fruits now and then meats when she's 8 months old.

I would hold off for a week or 2 and try carrots again. That could have been a reaction to the shots and no the food.
never mind - I re-read your post and your dr. said it wasn't from the shots.

no reactions here aside from some MAJOR gas with apples.
I would lay off until to allow the shots to leave her system.
And to my knowledge, it is recommended that carrots not be made homemade because of nitrates....baby food manufacturers are required to test nitrate levels in their carrots, organic or not.

Matteo had a reaction after peaches and squash.  I haven't tried either of them again just yet. He got a rash all over his back and a little on his belly.
