ugh... late 3rd tri girls and BTDT moms horrible cramping and pains...but likely NOT labor
how long can this go on????!
so last wed I had AF-like cramps and mildly painful BH contractions all day... I thought I was getting somewhere, but then thurs-sun I had nothing.
Today was quiet too until I left work at 7pm. While walking to my car, 2 things happened...
I had a sharp stabbing pain in my cervix for about 10 sec... then it went away.
a min later, I had really bad cramping on only my left side of my stomach (like a swimming after eating cramp). that darned thing lasted a couple min 
It was followed by AF-like cramping for 20 -30 min.... nothing really strong since then... It all ended about 90 min ago. Now it's only mild pains.
my question to you all is how long does this on and off pain / contraction thing go on before we're finally blessed with genuine labor? Anyone experience this or know someone who did?

with my son, it lasted 12 weeks But I have to say, they weren't really painful, just more annoying than anything....now with this one, they are starting to get somewhat painful, but really, really, really annoying. I am hoping I don't have to last more than 6 weeks....did I mention, its soooo annoying
To get back to your question, you just never know...every body is different and every pregnancy is different....

the cramp on the left side of my belly was really really bad! almost like a charlie horse of the belly  it literally stopped me in my tracks....
mind you, now nothing's going on again  just more AF like cramps.
I think what it could have been is Scone dropping again, hitting the cervix, and smacking into the left side of my uterus

I had AF cramps through my whole first PG. I had BH for the last 8 weeks and was in soft labor for 3 days before hard labor & then delivering DS.
