UGH. Fuming. Leaving my job today with disgust
So, everyone here (higher ups) knew why I was leaving and yesterday I felt pretty good. I left everything in good order, etc. Most of the staff is at a trade show today; it's just me and two others. I came in to say good bye to my best friend here and do some last-minute work with my art director so the magazines come out clean. A staffer JUST told me: "Boy. Christine (manager, HR) was b*tching about you yesterday! Said she couldn't understand why you'd leave a good job and that even your husband said you shouldn't quit." Of course, that was a lie! My husband??? How dare you make it sound as though my husband is not supportive of me? What's more, it's a total lie! A major fabrication because I guess this woman is bitter I'm going!
I am just annoyed. I very much wish this person hadn't told me. The only thing we (me and DH) can think of is maybe at a Christmas party, he mentioned to the owner "this is a really nice company"--because the owner is always telling DH how much they "love" me whenever he sees them.

That would make me so angry!! I know my temper and I would probably say something to the HR chick. It wouldn't make things better, but it would probably make me feel better to set the record straight.

WOW. What kind of sh!t is that! How dare she a) talk about you behind your back. Shame on her, being in HR & all you'd think she'd know better; and b) talking about your DH like she has the right to?

yep! I really am normally a chipper girl, I swear it. Even this morning, my boss left me a message asking me to finish some things and even called to make sure I was there....it's like, dude. I did your job for 4 years. Sink or swim now.
