Two Job Search Related Questions
1) My company has engaged a consultant to to a strategic plan - the consulting firm is fairly large - and they happen to have a great opening right now. Is it completely inappropriate for me to apply since technically we are one of their clients? I work in the nonprofit/philanthropy sector.
2) Has anyone ever gone back to a company that they left b/c of a difficult boss but returned under a different boss?

I would definitely speak to your contact there, actually, that's what I may be doing soon too.
I have left a job because of a boss, and returned with the same boss, who I forgot I can't stand!!!!!!

I joined a firm after being a client. I didn't think it was a big deal -- I was leaving anyway -- but after I got here, I learned that I caused major issues for the relationship.
It blew over after a while, but it easily could have backfired on me.
