Twins and need lots of advice..

Hi Ladies-
we just found out we are pregnant with twins via IVF. We have a DD who is 20 months old.
I am in shock!! Although I am grateful for everything I feel completely overwhelmed.
How am I supposed to take care of twins without my DD feeling ignored? I want to cry every time I think about this.

I get anxiety when I think of all the things we need to buy and all the changes that will happen.

I don't want to sound selfish or ungrateful b/c I am not. I just have so many things going through my head and I just needed to get it out on here.

Any words of advice or anything will be appreciated.
Feel free to FM me.

I have the opposite as you. My twins were 18 months when I found out I was pregnant with my ds.
I was in shock, sad they wouldn't get all mt attention, terrified about $ etc
After a couple weeks the shock wore off and I started getting super excited!

They are almost 4 and 19 months and I can see that they will all be so close.

Twins are the best! Congrats!

You're already a mommy, and you've got this. I think the panic will wear off. Keep yourself healthy and well-rested and you'll be great. Once the twins come, you will see if you keep them on the same schedule, it will be like having one big baby that takes a super long time. Your daughter will be so excited, and at her age, she'll be helpful when you need her to be. I think you will have it down as long as you have some helping hands and an organized schedule. Welcome! It is very shocking, but once you take it in you'll be fine.Chat Icon my twins were 8 months old when we found out by surprise we were expecting my 3rd. If I had my choice, I think it would've been easier to have had the twins after the 1st baby.

We didn't know what we were doing (who does) when we had them. At least you have that experience. Yes, it will be different because there are 2 of them. But I think your daughter is a great age. She will be close to 3 by the time they are born which will be a big help because she will be so much more independent.

I think that's the perfect age gap. She will be a great little helper. My twins are almost 3 now and always want to help with their little brother. But, he is 18 months and wants no part of having any helpChat Icon. So there is usually a lot of fighting in my house.

It's overwhleming at first but they will be a great trio and so close as they grow up. Congrats!!!

Oh. And don't try to be superwoman. When people offer help, take it!!! You will need it. Even if it means sending someone to the store to pick up milk, formula, etc.

Twins and need lots of advice..

I am 19 weeks with twins, babies # 3 and 4. I totally understand where you are coming from! We found out they were twins when I was just about 8 weeks...the shock does wear off. Now, although we are still scared and overwhelmed with the thought of 4 small kids, everyone who has twins says it is the BEST and they can't imagine it being any other way. I am sure you and I will feel that way too. Congrats!!

Congrats! We were the same. DS was 18 months old when I found out we were expecting twins. I was very excited, but had similar
Fears that you do.

The twins are now 6 1/2 months old - it is definitely a wild ride and I always feel pulled in 3 directions - but it is amazing and we are so happy. I can't believe I ever had those sad feelings. FM me if need to talk!
