Twin Mommies - High Risk Scans decrease after 28 weeks?

I recently went for a growth sono at North Shore where I have been going for scans every two weeks since I hit the second trimester. They told me that since the cervix naturally shortens around this time and mine has been measuring great that I don't have to come back until 32 weeks for another growth scan.

Normal? I asked my OB and she also confirmed that unless I'm not feeling well, feeling contractions, etc., that I don't need to go back there until 32 weeks. I have another OB appt at 31 weeks, so I'm seeing someone every two weeks.

I just thought it was strange, I would think that the appts would increase towards the end?

When i was PG with my twins my cervix was checked every 2 weeks and would have continued on every 2 weeks had I not been considered really high risk due to pre term labor a couple of times. Starting at 26 weeks I went weekly for cervix checks until I delivered at 32 weeks. They did growth sonos every 2 weeks until I delivered.

I am only 20 weeks pregnant with twins but North Shore said my cervix looks great and now they will see me once a month. I also see my OB once a month so I am seeing drs every two weeks.

I'm still on the every other week schedule with my OB with growth sonos once per month. Granted, I also see the MFM twice a week for BPPs, but that's because of a slew of other issues. I'll be 34 weeks on Saturday.

No. Your appts only increase with your OB at the end (but that is for every pregnant mom not just twins). All my growth scans for my twins were always fine and I only went monthly even at the end.

Starting at 32 weeks I've been seeing my mfm weekly and now (34 weeks) it seems I'll be seeing my OB weekly. My c-section is scheduled for 37w1d, 3 weeks from today.

The mfm checked my cervix every 2 weeks throughout the pregnancy. They stop checking it at 34 weeks.
