toddler moms, question about naps

DD was 2 in April. She always went down for a nap between 1245 and 1:00 and would sleep until 230/3
She goes to bed 8:45 (usually sleeping by 9)
Lately i notice she isn't tired for a nap until later. Today she fell asleep 1:45
So my question is, if she wakes up later from her nap, is she still going to go to bed at the same time she has been?

Re: toddler moms, question about naps

I'm not sure about your DD, but we had to take away DS's naps because he wasn't tired enough to fall asleep for his 8:30 bedtime. He's now almost 3 and only naps if the nanny is with him.

Every child is different, but I never moved DD's bedtime. She is 3.5, usually naps from 2 to 4:30-5ish and is in bed by 8.

Thanks ladies.
I guess I am concerned if she naps too late then she won't be tired for bedtime.

Re: toddler moms, question about naps

DS has been going down for naps later the last few weeks. Instead of going down between 11-12pm he now goes down between 12-1pm. He sleeps 2-3 hours. His bed time got pushed back until 9-10pm!!! But it works better for him and me. He sleeps longer and later...

Re: toddler moms, question about naps

try it and see what happens. My DS was fine as long as he was up for about 4 hours prior to bed time. I would wake him up if he slept past 4pm.

We took took away naps around 3yo becuase I noticed that days he took naps it took up to 2 hours to get him to sleep. Days he missed naps he was asleep in 5 minutes.
