To schedule a repeat c-section....

JUst wondering how far in advance docs allow you to schedule a c-section? Do you need to be in your 8th month before you'll know the b-day?

my docs gave me a tenative c-secyion date at about 7 months...
My high risk doc is now saying I won't even go that long.
I say th later the better.
it also depends on why u need one,
If only reason is u are just having one=i do not think thet let u go before 10 days before actual date.
If its a matter of babies weight or so on--they usually watch by sono.

My SIL's dr. scheduled hers when she was 10-12 wks PG. She had a c-section for her first child so her dr. wanted another c-section for this pregnancy.

I had a c/s with my first. When I got pregnant with my second and she stayed breech for a long time, I had considered scheduling the c/s.

However, my doc said that he couldn't even book the OR date until no sooner than 2 months before I was due (so March at the earliest because I was due in May). My doctor would not do a c/s either until I was at least 39 weeks along.

All that went out the window because she came earlier than the date we would have scheduled and I had a VBAC.

I will be having another c-section but I only know "about" when it will be. I figure as time goes on we will discuss it with our OB

Mine is scheduled 10 days before. They tried to do it within 7 to 10 days before my dd, and that was the best day for us and my doctor.....

We only scheduled it about a month ago b/c I was originally trying for VBAC, but I carry stubborn babies who dont turn head down!!!!
