To early to talk turkey?

What does everyone do?

Last year I cooked at my moms (it's was our first Thanksgiving day as man and wifeChat Icon )...but our apartment was to small for the whole family...so I had it at their house.

I just found a sweet potato biscuit recipe...so I'm actually thinking about taking on the day again...at moms of corse!

Re: To early to talk turkey?

I can't wait for my own home and people can come to me. This is our first holiday together and while we both have small familiies I have a feeling we will be going to his family this thanksgiving. I plan to do my own another day and invite my mom over.

Re: To early to talk turkey?

I host every holiday every year - have since I was single and living on my own even! I dont mind, I like it. Last year I skipped Thanksgiving because of our wedding. This year I'll do both major days again but I'm recruiting help because Im not going to be barefoot and PG in the kitchen all day.

Re: To early to talk turkey?

We usually go to my parents' beach house for Thanksgiving. It's always freezing cold by the water and it's always really cramped, but for some reason, it's always loads of fun. I'm excited for Thanksgiving this year. I just bought Christopher a "My first Thanksgiving" outfit. Chat Icon

Re: To early to talk turkey?

Not too soon.
We take turns going to my parents house and then to the ILs every other year.

I am not ready to try to take on the dinner yet.

Re: To early to talk turkey?

This year, DH and I are going to Florida to my dads for Thanksgiving. Our whole family, aunts and uncles, who we haven't seen since probably our wedding will all be there, plus my stepbrothers and my nieces, one who I haven't even met yet will be there. I am sooo excited.
But I am a little sad because my mom will be here alone, but we made a deal with my parents that we'll go there for Thanksgiving and be home for Christmas.
