Tile vs Slate in bathroom - Both floor and/or tub surround - POLL
If you could choose between regular tile and slate for the floor and/or tub surround, which would you choose and why?
Pros and Cons for both.
$$$ not being an issue!!!!

slate is more porous i would think and not as strong as tile. slate can be very soft.
PS...how did the estimate go?

I would go with ceramic or porcelain tile in the bathroom. I too wanted slate but the maintenance to remember to seal it was too much of a turn off, especially in a bathroom. I would do a slate looking tile instead.
