Those who live near the water, who is your insurance company?
Allstate is getting out of control....up to $1200 for homeowners insurance!
I have to find another company but a lot of them wont insure us since we are 500 feet from the water....who do you use?

We have Mercury Insurance but we are 1/4 of a mile from the water.

Same here but State Farm. We had to call a FEW companies b/c they said no. Meanwhile, we're 4 floors up. If WE'RE flooded, pretty much everone is screwed!

State farm wouldnt take me either, they said that they dont do flood insurance anymore... HMM

No one would take us except NY Property (we got the policy through State Farm). We're across from a canal and the bay is a block away. We pay just under $1000 for homeowners for a hi-ranch

we have allstate and we had a problem since we are near the water---but all we could find that would insure us was allstate

Allstate just dropped us due to the "hurricane" bs. We are in the process of shopping. State Farm won't take us. We've gotten quotes from 2 companies one which was $900.00 more!!!!
Very frustrating!

We live on a bluff on the North Shore of Long Island (waterfront), and were also recently dropped by Liberty Mutual because of the hurricane b.s. as well.
We are insured by a company in Arizona (have to ask DH the name)
