those who did/are doing IVF

How many cycles did you do before moving onto IVF?

I know there are tons of mitigating factors, I'm just curious what everyone's experience was. The doc told me after 3 IUIs, ideally we should move onto IVF.

I got pregnant on my 3rd IUI with my ........ then had the loss at 17wks. We did 3 more IUIs and I had a chemical.

With 5-6 follies in most of my IUIs, we decided IVF would help us to move on the fastest. We also did it for diagnostic purposes.

I'm glad we moved on when we did.

We did 4 iuis before moving onto Ivf. But since we were dealing with male factor infertility, the 4 iuis were kind of a shot in the dark/ baby step to get us ready for Ivf.

We tried for 4 months, got preggo on our own, then m/c at 8.5 weeks (last August). Then tried on our own after that for 3 more cycles (all close to or over 40 days) and OB/Gyn suggested RE due to long cycles and my endo. We only did one IUI with Clomid/HCG trigger. Then our Insurance changed and no longer covered IUI. So, the next cycle we did Clomid/HCG trigger but tried on our own. There are no male IF issues and I've been pregnant three times on my own (2 m/c) so we thought that wasn't the issue.

I didn't react well to Clomid - major lining thinning issues, so RE decided to stop that. He recommeneded IVF. We took a cycle (which is 40+ days for me) and tried on our own with no meds. Then we went on BCP to start IVF cycle.

we did 2 clomind iuis then two injectable iui's and moved on to ivf and got pregnant with my first ivf now I have had a failed fet, failed fresh cycle and spontaneous m/c

I'm doing my 5th and final IUI this morning. Praying it works, but if not we're moving onto IVF.

We did 5 cycles. The first three we used Femera and then Ovidrel.
The last 2 we used Gonal-F, Femera, Ovidrel.

We are now moving into IVF. Last BCP will hopfully be Wed

i did a total of 6 medicated cycles before IVF. two were chemical PG, two were BFN, one was cancelled due to hyperstim, and one was no O (clomid). im glad we moved on when we did although it took a little while to accept cause i wasn't expecting to move on so soon.

I did 6 IUI's before moving onto IVF....and I had DS

ETA: got preg twice with the IUI's but m/c both times (the m/c's had nothing to do with the actual IUI's though.)

A big fat zero,...due to genetic and male issues. If this doesn't work maybe I will go back to IUI.

I did 4 iuis before moving on to ivf. I am pregnant NOW from my first fet after a failed fresh cycle

i did 3 IUI cycles and moved onto IVF due to a worsening MF problem. when the IVF cycle failed i switched doctors and did 1 IUI cycle on a different medication he wanted to try and then moved on to IVF again.

I did 4 IUIs (3 medicated, 1 unmedicated due to a cyst) before IVF. BUT - I did an entire YEAR of NaProTechnology in between them.

We did 2 IUIs w/injectibles - both BFN. Since we paid out of pocket for everthing including meds, and since we have unexplained infertility, we decided to move onto IVF b/c we were spending thousands per IUI cycle. We are very glad we took the next step for many reasons.

we did 3 cycles of clomid and nothing- and then moved right into IVF- my doctor and I agreed that IVF would the next best thing since 1-I was fairly young and an IUI would result in me being an octomom and 2- PCOS related issues

I think 10. It was 3 years after first seeking out help. I had tried everything else and found out (finally) that there was most likely an egg quality issue.

After over a year trying naturally we went to a RE and had one medicated cycle ( letrozole similiar to clomid), then 4 IUIs -all failed cycles. Our dx was unexplained.

We tried on our own for about 6 months and then my aunt who works at my ob/gyn office called me to say to just come in and have DH and I get checked to not waste more time. I thank God she did had us come early (were both 29-30 at the time so we were really supposed to try for a year but she pulled some strings). That's when we found out about DH male factor. We then spent about few months continuing to try on our own while he was going to differnt MD's trying to find out why his #'s were so low. Finally the endocrynologist said that they #'s weren't coming up fast enough and he thought it would be best to move onto an RE. We did and he offered to do IUI first just to avoid me doing all the meds for IVF but he said that there really was only a 1-3% chance of it working so we decided to skip the IUI all together and go straight to IVF/ICSI. For us, it worked on the first shot but I m/c at 12.5 weeks due to something completely unrelated to IF. Now we're in the process of waiting a bit again before moving onto FET
