Thinking ahead - where can DH & I go for our next vacation?!
I know, I am nuts!
We can't actually go anywhere til after July 30, 2009 since thats when I will have vacation days again.
I would LOVE to do one of the Sandals resorts, so any feedback would be great! I'm a bit leery of St. Lucia since every bride who's been there said the roads are SO twisty and curvy and even people who aren't prone to carsickness, got sick! I am MEGA prone to it, so I am afraid to go there LOL!
We want to go to a place that has more to do that just lying on a beach. We love the "touristy" types of things, like the tours, or ATVing, or hiking, etc. And an added bonus for DH would be if they have a casino!
Any feedback would be great!

But I don't think there are any casinos there!
4 hour flight, beautiful country, lots to see/do.. great hiking!

Yup!
DH and I have done alot of traveling, and this is by far our favorite place! It was just the right mix of activity and relaxing.

I loved Costa Rica as well! If you are looking to just relax, DH and I also loved Puerto Vallarta. We stayed at Dreams and although we left the hotel once to go zip lining, our biggest "adventure" of the day was what to eat  Depends on what you are looking for... We are heading to Riveria Maya in the spring for a mix of beach, ruins and nightlife.

Is there really a ton to do there??? I was really thinking about Antigua but I'd need to do some research and see what there is to do, etc. Can you tell me some of the things you guys did (outside the hotel

Cabo San Lucas, it takes a long time to get there, very few direct flights, but by far my favorite beach vacation so far.
Except my honeymoon, that was Belize!

I second that, Sandlas Antigua was amazing. And also look into The Bahamas!
PS: I went to St. Lucia on my honeymoon and definitely got sick on those roads on the way to the airport back home. It was not pretty.

DH and I just came back from St Maarten and loved it! its like 2 vacations in 1 because its technically 2 different countries on 1 island. only 3.5 hours nonstop and we laid on the beach, shopped, and hit the casinos. they have horseback riding, tons of water sports, atv'ing (both on road and off), hiking, and zip lining!

DH and I went to Punta Cana last month and loved it. We stayed at Excellence. It's the furthest from the airport and you will get carsick but the trip is worth it!

Royal Hideaway in the Riviera Maya
DH and i went on our honeymoon and it is fabulous. So much to do on the resort and then there are a tons of things to do outside the resort. We rented ATV's and went snorking and to the Mayan ruins. The nightlife in the town was great as well
we want to go back someday
