Tell me if I was wrong LONG~THIS WOMAN IS NUTS!!!!

I live on a fairly small dead end street. There are only a few neighbors I talk to and the rest are a bunch of stepford wives who follow around another woman like she was God.

Yesterday, there were 4 boys ages 10-13, who live down the street running around and goofing off. Fine, no problem. As I'm walking back into my house, they come and start wrestling on my lawn I said to them, hey are you kidding me? Get off the grass.
About 20 mins later my neighbor calls me and tells me she just yelled at these kids because they were trying to get into my yard and one of them was trying to drag my son's bouncer with him, the kids told her that they were waiting for their friend who lives there. She told them you dont have friends who live there get the hell out of there.

All day I was watching them. Around 4:00 I see one boy standing at the foot of my driveway so I go outside and see another boy trying to get the bouncer, I was like what are you doing there? The kid on the driveway was like I wasnt over there, as the other kid comes walking out, I was like stay out of my yard, stay out of my driveway Idont want to see you here again and I close the door.

2 hours later my doorbell rings, its one of the parents. This woman is a known drunk, always making spectacles of herself, basically nuts. I open the door and she was like "I'm Theresa I live down the street, my son came home crying today because you yelled at him" First off when I yelled her kid wasnt even there. I told her yes I did yell, all day they have been running all over my grass, trying to get into my yard, trying to steal my sons toys, lying to me and they have no right to be on my property" She says "They are only kids in the neighborhood playing" I said there are 4 of them, they couldnt play in any of their own yards/driveways? She said what are you gonna do when your kid grows up I said my son is gonna have respect for other peoples property" She said "yea I'd like to see that" I said "you will trust me" She said so you dont want any kids on the side of your house" YEA THATS RIGHT I DONT WANT ANY KIDS WHO ARE TRYING TO TAKE THINGS THAT BELONG TO ME ON THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE WHY CANT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT? WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF SOME STRANGE TEENAGE BOYS WERE HANGING OUT ON THE SIDE OF YOUR HOUSE"

She told me well you have a nice day I said yes I will have a nice day, she called me a mean b***h I called her a loudmouth drunk who needs to watch her kids.

This has been eating away at me all night. This is my property, if those kids got hurt who are the parents gonna sue? ME, if they got into my yard and drowned in my pool, who they gonna sue ME.

SO DAMN ANGRY

8/22~ I was putting DS into the car today and I hear her kid and 2 other kids yelling "I wasnt in your yard" "Stop Lying!" I paid no mind, now here comes cukoo bird running to the kids and yelling, "What did she say, whats her problem now" I was like W T F? I got out of my car I looked at her like yea what and she turned her back. I drove away and I see her gesturing to my car and my house.

This wackoo is living for drama, I am documenting every single thing she says. BTW as we speak I see her precious son and 2 of his friends ganging up and beating up another one of their "friends"

I would be FUMING too. NO WAY are you wrong. What if one of those kids got hurt on your propert?? She seems like the type that would sue you.
You had every right to tell them to get off your property.
It kids like that who are going to grow up being trouble makers because of THEIR parenting skills

Honestly, you did all you could up to this point. You spoke to the boys, you spoke to the parent. If they came on my property again, I'd call the police. Thats trespassing and the fact that they are trying to take your son's toys...this is unacceptable. I'd take it one step further. Apparently their parents arent going to deal with it in the appropriate manner. So I'd call the cops and teach them the lesson before it goes any further.

Call over the your local precinct & ask what they think you should do about it.

I would have reacted EXACTLY the same way. They have no business being on your property in any way, shape or form. You're right. If they get hurt, the parents will be looking to sue you. The next time they are on your property, turn the sprinklers on. I've done that. It works every time.

As far as this parent is concerned, she needs to spend less time with her nose in a bottle of booze and more time supervising her kid. Moron.

You are totally right. I would do something very similar. It's one thing if kids are playing with a ball, and it goes in your front yard, and they come and get it, then leave right away. I have no problem with that. I would definitely not put up with what your neighborhood kids are doing...

What an idiot! She apparently thinks that kids cannot have respect for other people's property from her comment..."I'd like to see that". That right there just made it obvious that she lets her kids walk all over her and doesn't show them how to respect anyone.
Good for you for telling her off. She needs to stop hitting the bottle and start watching those kids.

You are totally right. Regardless of the repercussions that you are worried about with those kids hurting themselves on your property, there is NO WAY that it should be acceptable for these kids to come into your yard, uninvited, and STEAL.

Here is a pic of my house (sorry about the crappy scan), as you can see, its not a long driveway (although you can fit 2 cars), but you can see my fence to my yard, its right there, why oh why would they need to play there?

Next time they try to steal call the police. These kids need to understand NOW that this is wrong, before it is your car and they are 15.
I actually feel bad for the kids- they are obviously on their own without any guidance. Very sad.

Being the mother of kids that age I think you did the right thing. I always try to teach my children to respect other peoples property. I hope they do. I am one of those parents that if someone tells me my kids are doing something wrong I punish my child and also make my child apologize. They sound like punks whose parents let me get away with it.
