Teen Mom Stars Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood Returning for New Season
The original Teen Moms are coming back! MTV stars Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Amber Portwood — who appeared on the first iteration of Teen Mom in 2009 — are returning for a new season in 2015, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal. (Their former costar Farrah Abraham will not be joining them.) A catch-up special on the girls will also air this fall.
A lot has changed for the trio (who started out on 16 and Pregnant) since their last season of Teen Mom in 2012. As seen in MTV's recent specials about them — Being Maci, Being Catelynn, and Being Amber — all three stars are at very different places in their lives than they were two years ago.
Portwood, for one, spent several months in prison after multiple run-ins with the law. Since her release last November, she has moved into a new house and written a book called Never Too Late, due out Aug. 26. "I've changed so much that my focus and my goals are different than before," she tells Us.
One new goal? Going to college. "I am currently enrolled in school but I have no idea what I want to major in yet," she says.
She's also busy, of course, taking care of her daughter, Leah, 5. "She just started kindergarten," Portwood brags, "and she's still beautiful and smart."
Bookout, meanwhile, is excited to introduce viewers to her boyfriend of two years, Taylor McKinney. She also wants people to see how much both she and her son Bentley, 5, have matured. "My family and I are in such a new and interesting place in our lives," she tells Us. "I feel like I have grown up so much since the last time that I filmed anything for TV, so it will be very interesting to show viewers how our lives have evolved."
Like Portwood, she's in school — but graduating in December. "I started a new job just a few weeks ago," she tells Us. "I'm a social media marketing specialist for a company, and I absolutely love it."
Lowell is gearing up for some big changes, too. She and longtime love Tyler Baltierra are getting ready to welcome a new baby, and planning a wedding at the same time. "I feel like documenting this pregnancy is totally different, because now it's our time to be parents," she explains. (Lowell placed her first daughter, Carly, for adoption.)
"Tyler and I have always done the show to help people," she adds. "Now people can see what it will be like to juggle the responsibilities of taking care of our new baby while navigating our relationship with Carly and her adoptive parents."
Teen Mom's 2015 return will extend MTV's partnership with the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. According to a recent study, the teen birth rate in the U.S. has dropped more than 20 percent since the show's first season; the study credits Teen Mom and its predecessor, 16 and Pregnant, with "accelerating the decline by 5.7 percent."

I remember reading the 3 girls said they would not do the show unless she was gone!
Farrah was a joke on the update special, "squatting" in the show house of the development she "lived in" not to mention all of her porn adventures.

I will definitely watch this, this is the only girls I actually enjoyed watching! So happy that Farrah isn't coming back although I will miss her mom's crazy eyes and hearing Farrah says Michael a thousand times.
I am really not trying to be mean but can someone PLEASE explain to me how Catelynn still has braces?

I'm really surprised Farrah isn't coming back, since she is a fame wh*re. I liked that guy that Maci used to be with... Kyle was it?.. he seemed to be really good w/ her son.
