Sorry if this is a silly question, but it's my first year giving my DD's teachers gifts. Do you all give gift cards? or actual cash?

I usually go by their style. My always go to is Nordstrom GC. Can't go wrong there.
For my son's K teacher I'm getting her Chicco's GC.

I don't think I could hand a professional that works with my kids cash. Seems weird to *me*. I've always done a GC if I go that route.

We do cash. I hate receiving gift cards. It could be for a store I don't shop at, or even if it's for a store I go to or a generic Visa type gift card, I still need to remember to use it. I rather just get cash. You're giving money either way. Why not give it in the most practical form?

for DD in K a bunch of parents got together and just did a combined cash gift.
for DS in PreK the school collects money to be distributed at the holidays and end of the year. And i gave his teacher a gift card to starbucks

Thanks guys. DH and I are split. I want to do gift cards (but I would just do Visa or Amex). He says: cash is king. LOL.

I used to do a gift card. But I hate paying the fee. I would rather give to the teacher. So I give cash now. Believe me no one turns down cash and if you think about it wouldn't that be what you would want?
I also enclose in a cute card with a picture I double tape onto the inside of my dd and now that she can write her name I have her sign herself, I also hand write a nice note.
