Tatoo's...Body art..or trendy habit?
I have 2 tatoo's...and I've always LOVED them...as art...a way to decorate your body (you decorate your house right?)
Do you think that some people just do it cause it's "cool"?
I se kids younger and younger these days getting them...my 16 yr old neice wants one already!

YES a lot of people do it because it is a fad....But that isn't all of the people.
That is why you see sooo many people with similar tattoos...IMO that is kinda cheesy. I couldn't ever get a tattooo just because it is a fad.

People have been getting tatoos for a LOOOOONG time. It is a way to express yourself but when you are 16 and wanting one, I would say its more of a trend thing.

i look at them as body art - but when i see the 18 year olds getting the requisite butterfly on their lower back, i see that as a trend. they get one and think they are all that.

I think people get them for both reasons.
I love mine but I got it at 17 so maybe it was part fad part body art?? Oh well I still love it so thats all that matters

I think it depends on the person for me I got my first one when I was 21 and my second when I was 25. I don't think of them either way I just wanted them for me!

I think for most people (not all), it's a fad. Everybody and their mother has one nowadays (seriously - my MIL has TWO that she got when the whole tattoo thing really blew up a few years ago).
I think that if you are getting them to express yourself by decorating your body, cool - but too many people think or say that's what they are doing and really they are just doing it because everyone else is doing it.

I got my first when I was 16. It is my own wearable art. I design all my own stuff & I have even shown it at conventions. I have 11 and I don't regret any of them, but I never thought of it as a fad. I guess for some people though, it is a *bandwagon* type thing.

me too. I think guy's tatoos are so much more original. Girls seem to be repetative in what they pick.
