Target Credit Card Holders
Hey All,
Well, it seems DH & I will be spending a nice chunk of change in Target this Spring (we're going to get closet organizers for both bedrooms) which comes out to over $500 depending on price diffrences in stores. Also I saw a file cabinet & possibly new coffee table/console table & end tables which could be another $400. Being we'd be throwing down so much money (could change), would it be worth it to open up a target cc? Does target give any sort of discounts when you open a card? Any help def. appricated. Thanks

DH opened one at Christmas time, you get 10% off your first purchase with the card.

Yup, we did this when we bought some furniture. As an added bonus, they now send us Target coupons in the mail.

Also they will sporadically send out 10% off coupons based on the amount of money you spend in a certain period.

They have a thing going on now that if you spend $1,000 using your card you'll get a coupon for 10% off. It sounds like something you could take advantage of at this time. Plus it doesn't cost anything to have it.

We opened it back in 2006 when we bought a BBQ & got 10%. I do get coupons in the mail frequently...Anything to save a $

I hope they have this promo in April/May time. I'm still pricing out other closet units, but targets seems the best for the money and plus I'm in love with this coffee table set they have, so we'll see. Thanks everyone

ooh, see that wouldn't help us at all. I'd want to use the 10% off on the 1K purchase (if it even goes that high). Either way, it seems a CC is the best, as long as I pay it off right then and there, which we would do.

You'll get it when you open the card - as an all day shopping pass.
Then for every $1K you spend you get another 10% off.

You don't have to make a $1K purchase in one shot, they let it add up over time. And a Target Visa card you can use anywhere that Visa is accepted, so it adds up quicker than you think.
You'd still get 10% off on your first purchase with the card.
