Suggestions regarding what to do for double stroller

I'm not sure what I should buy. Should I buy a double stroller in which I can put the car seat carrier in or should I get a regular double stroller and use Roman's old travel system for baby #2? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.Chat Icon

Re: Suggestions regarding what to do for double stroller

Well, I bought the Duoglider. I thought it would be great, especially since I could use DS' infant seat with it and I wouldn't have to buy a new seat for DD. I thought it was okay at first...I just assumed it took a little getting used to. Now, I HATE it. That thing is SO ridiculously hard to maneuver. Turning it is a nightmare. I think I'm going to get the sit and stand. I've heard good things about it (especially that it's easier to maneuver) and I think DS would be happier being able to stand. He hates being locked into the stroller seat.

Re: Suggestions regarding what to do for double stroller

I am in this situation too! NOt sure how old your first will be when #2 is born, but DD will only be 14 months.

I've been on a quest for months to find a double stroller that turns easily, isn't as heavy as a truck, and that i actually like and has good ratings. My next step is to stop mommies i see with these strollers and quiz them!

While #2 is a still a newborn i am going to use the graco seat with the stroller frame and put DD is carts while food shopping since DH is always with me for errands-we only have 1 car.

BUt i def need a double for walks, so i can get out by myself and for the mall etc.

These are my contenders so far in order that i like..

Combi Twin Savvy EX

Combi Twin Sport 2

This has been the hardest thing EVER, i shop around and do less research to purchase a CAR!!

I actually love my duoglider - I think it handles really well, I can steer it with one hand.. folds up easily, granted, it is very heavy.
I also have a Maclaren side by side - which I hate!! It doesn't handle as easily - the babies keep sliding down in the seat, and I can't tighten the straps any tighter! I can't open and close it easily....its sitting in my shed.

I really like the sit and stand by my kids are 24 months apart so it works well. Another option is to just plan to put your older child in your regular stroller and carrier the baby in a carrier for the first few months until you think a Sit and Stand will work. ALso....they now have a sit and stand that is a double stroller but then converts to the sit and stand! Looks like a great option.

Do you have the Triumph or the Techno? It's really awful? I love to hear real use feedback! I appreciate your feedback!

I haven't tried that one in the store since the BRU doesn't have it up here, i have to make my way to the speciality stores.
I already have 3 single strollers and i want to make sure this one is a purchase i will love to use!

Errrrr....i hate this search....

I wish peg would make a pliko P3 double, i love my P3!

Like Michele I am still on the hunt. It's so frustrating for me. I orginally wanted the Duoglider but I knew I wouldnt use it for when they got older. Now I am going towards the McClaren Techno but I have to test it out and see how DS fits in it now. I saw it and the seats look at little narrow. This also means that I wll need to take out the baby of the infant carrier each time we use the stroller which I think might be a little bit of a pain until the baby is a few months old.
I'm worried that I am going to spend $250-$350 on a stroller and not like it.

Re: Suggestions regarding what to do for double stroller

I too am stuck in this search!!

I read the reviews on the Maclaren and the Peg PErego Aria Twin and they were just EH. Some hated it...many said the strollers felt flimsy for the money. I forgot which stroller....but one review I read said they had issues with it TIPPING FORWARD!!!

The Combi seems to fit my needs (just no snack tray) and got pretty decent and consistent reviews. I talked to one mom in the mall that had it with 2 kids (not twins) and she said it was great. She said the only thing she didn't like was lack of storage...but honestly....I don't leave anywhere with that many bags

The Combi also will take an infant carrier...but it has to be a Combi carrier.

Re: Suggestions regarding what to do for double stroller

I have been looking at doubles since I found out i was pg. I really like the side by side. The duogliders seem huge. I just haven't figured out the best one yet. I don't care if an infant seat won't attach however, I would like it to have a "boot" or something for the infant.
