Stupid Question--- What does a swollen lymph node under your arm feel like????

Believe it or not I have never had one. I have an area under my arm that I noticed is slightly swollen, its at the very bottom of my arm pit. I noticed it a few weeks ago while shaving and it got a little better but I noticed it again today. There is no lump or bump or even tenderness. My first though was that I did it at the gym, I've increased weights??? I can't get my gyno until the middle of next week and don't feel sick at all. Should I worry??? I showed my sister and BF today and they kid of laughed and said I've become a hypochondriac since turning 40. My BF who is 41, said its probably hormonal and a swollen node would be hard/lump like. Any thoughts/experiences???

I think they usually hurt. I had one near the crease of my leg, and it hurt a lot.

ETS: You should get it checked out just in case, I had mine checked.

I had this when I was a teenager and every so often it acts up. Now that I am preggo it is again bothering my. It's very tender to touch and feels like something the size of a pea. Whenever someone palpates it I ca tell them exactly when they area on it because it is so tender in that area.

To be safe, have it checked out!!!

I don't know what it feels like but I think even if you have a susupiciion that that's what it is, please go to your doctor and have it checked out.

i get swollen nodes alot
they are very tender and bigger then a pea usually... i get one by my ear and under my arms its annoying adn scary at first...if it is one just relax and let ur body heal.. (i get them if my bodys working overtime and im not sleeping enough etc.. i get run down )...
but if its there for longer then a week or it keeps getting bigger go to the doc to get it checked out.. could just be a cyst too

I had this too!! Went for a sonogram on it they were concerned...I used the same deodorant for years and the Dr. told me sometimes when you use the same for so long it irritates it and to change deodorant.
Well, all gone! It was so weird..hope this helps you but I had the same thing a couple of years back. Good luck!
