Stupid question & now too late to call Drs office

Does fondue heat up the soft cheeses enough to make it safe?
I wanted to go for fondue tomorrow with a friend for lunch & they have a great gorgonzola & brie mix (both of which are probably imported). I know if you have baked brie it is OK from the heat, but is findue hot enough? I guess so if it melts, right?

Yes, it is perfectly fine.

I have eaten fondue many times during this pregnancy.

Also, I just had a salad with gorgonzola cheese in it the other night and that wasn't heated Chat Icon

Are they pasteurized? Most imported brie are pasteurized. It will be on the label.

Yeah but since I am not making it I don't know if I can see if the milk is pasturized.

It's a restaurant? They probably use pasturized cheeses for these reasons!

I've had pasturized brie since being pregnant. YUMMMM CheeseChat Icon

I have eaten a lot of imported cheeses and it was always pasteurized.

I think it would be more of a problem if it was made in a store but not on grand retail level.

A fondue does get pretty hot though!
