Stressing out over new dining room set! What size is your table?
I had my heart set on one set that we ordered, waited 2.5 weeks and then found out was discontinued; this is the one I've found that comes very close in style (and I'll be getting 6 chairs and a china cabinet as well)...
It is 64" without a leaf. It only comes with one 18" butterfly leaf--so 82" total. How many people will that fit? I love to entertain, but usually do not have sit-down formal dinners except on Christmas Day, which is 13 people (and 5 are children) more or less. Is this OK??? I'll probably need a "kiddie table" for those situations, right?

you will probably only be able to fit 8 at that table with one additional leaf so yes, the 5 kids would need to be at a kiddie table. if you could buy an extra leaf you could probably fit 4 more people very tightly.

We have the same size table. When we open the leaf we fit 8 at the table.

Same. When we do holidays here we put a card table at one end and can fit 10 and have squeezed in 11 or 12 that way.

My table is 82" as is, and I have an additional 20" leaf that makes it 102" long.
Honestly, it's tight, but I hardly ever put the leaf in because it's a pain! The 82" table serves most of our needs, and right now we have 8 chairs around. 3 each side and the 2 end ones. If I need to seat more than 8 people, I do put the leaf in and can get 10-12 people with the right chairs!

Thanks, everyone. I guess I can figure on fitting 8 comfortably with the leaf, maybe 10 with a squeeze. For the amount of times we host a sit-down dinner I think that works...

We have a 90" table thats 48" wide
We can fit 10 chairs without the leaf in, but I leave 2 in the corners of the room when not in use.
With the leaf its 112" and its pretty tight, I can fit 12 chairs with that leaf, and have to use my kitchen table, which I put next to the dining table.
