State Math Testing in 3rd Grade? Teachers?
I know it's the same dates in all districts. Does anyone know if 3rd grade is typically the entire week or just Mon and Tues?
I've decided to keep DS in his current school until testing is over since I think it will be too traumatic to start a new school and have a state test the same day. Plus he gets testing mods (extra time, questions read and small group setting) which I don't even think will be in place on the first day of his school, especially since the soonest I can register him is the Friday prior to. Soo I'm thinking his last would be March 6th as long as testing isn't on that date also. Sorry for rambling and I realize I can call the schools, but they aren't open this week!

DH says it's just the couple of days not the whole week...
Technically they have to go by the old IEP until the CSE has a chance to convene...
(DH is a Special Education teacher)

DH says it's just the couple of days not the whole week...
Technically they have to go by the old IEP until the CSE has a chance to convene...
(DH is a Special Education teacher)
I know they have to go by his current IEP, however, since he would be starting school the day of the testing (or testing the day after), I'm just not confident about the whole thing. Not to mention I just don't think he would do well prepping in one school and taking the test in a whole new place KWIM?

The test is given over a two day period, any two days during the week of March 3rd. My school gives it on Tuesday & Wednesday.
Hopefully they will be able to give him some time to get used to his new surroundings before he takes the test. Maybe the following week he can take a make up. You may want to contact the special education teacher ahead of time to discuss this, and to put your mind at ease. Good luck!

I wish I could contact them, but since he has to be withdrawn from his current school before registering for the new school, there are no answers prior to meeting with them. Plus he is in a gen. ed. classroom, so I don't even know who his teacher would be until he is registered.
I wasn't aware they do makeups, so that could be an option. Thanks!

I know exactly what you mean!!!!
I, personally, wouldnt switch him until after the testing...Ive had issues with one school district honoring the other school districts IEP...and it was something as seemingly simple as test mods!!!
