How long did it take you to see results?

Re: Starting a Weight Loss Plan
I think it really depends on how much you have to lose and what type of plan you're doing.
For me, I see results faster when I change my eating, than I do by increasing my working out.
And by "see results" I mean, the numbers start creeping down the scale. I weigh myself once a week, so usually if I've done well with sticking to the plan, I'll see a small improvement right away that next week. Noticeable results, where I look like I've lost weight though? Those take much longer.

Re: Starting a Weight Loss Plan
I started in September 2007. From September-December I did it myself and lost 15lbs. No one noticed but I felt better.
In January 2008 I joined Weight Watchers- by March people could definetly see a difference. So, it took about 5 months for oter people to notice the change.
I think overall it depends on the person, where they lose weight from and quickly they lose it. Normal weight loss is about 2lbs per week.

Re: Starting a Weight Loss Plan
I felt results within the first week. I felt better and was more energetic.
About a month into it people are starting to notice. My neck and face are usually the first place I lose weight from and people have made comments that I look smaller and not as bloated.
Good luck

Re: Starting a Weight Loss Plan
A long time! (at least for me.)
I'd say five months to a year for others to see a real difference.
I dropped 4 pounds this month, and while no one else notices, and I am still down about how little weight I've lost, at least it is something. If I lose at least 4 more pounds next month (lets hope!) then that will become 8 pounds lost and its a chain, so eventually enough should get lost where it makes an impact.

Re: Starting a Weight Loss Plan
Thanks for the responses! I lost weight in the past more quickly, so I guess I'm just getting a bit discouraged now.

Re: Starting a Weight Loss Plan
I'm 12 weeks into doing WW and going to the gym (started 6 weeks in). I have lost just about 30 lbs and people haven't really noticed. They know I'm dieting so they have said my clothes look a little looser, but people who don't know I'm dieting really don't notice.
I feel so much better though. I have more energy. I was actually able to wear my engagement/wedding rings for the first time since I was pg with my 1st daughter (3.5 years ago). I'm excited about going to the gym. So even though people aren't really noticing it, it's ok.
