Is there a deadline to apply for star. We haven't closed on our house yet but will in about 2 months and was wondering if there was a deadline. Thanks

We're in the same boat, and the deadline is March 1st. We were told to try anyway by going to the town hall and taking anything we had with our new address on it and any paperwork regarding the close. I thing my DH will be going to Islip Town Hall today. I'll keep you posted.
My closing was supposed to be set for today, but my lawyer is an @@??%%!!!

techincally, it can vary by township but for the most part, march 1st...i would try to bring it down...the worst then can say is no

STAR is not based on county, you apply to your town.
Each Town is different.
The Town of Babylon is March 1st. I don't know about others.

We are in Suffolk (Brookhaven Township) and we just went on Friday because the deadline is March 1st...all you need is a copy of the deed and and the application that you can print online. I will try and get the website for you
