Spinoff...When and How did you tell you SO that you Loved them for the 1st time
DH and I had been dating about 11 months.
He took me out to dinner, and he gave nice little toast in regards to a recent promotion. It was so sweet...I cried and told him I loved him. He was shooked because I had not said it...he just assumed it was something difficult for me to say, and I would finally say it when I felt most comfortable. He was right...and patient!!!

DH and I were friends for a long time before we starting dating. About 3 weeks into our dating relationship, he told me he was falling in love with me. I didn't say it back. A few weeks later, while on our way to a concert, I realized that I was in love with him and told him.

To celebrate my birthday, DH took me to Montauk for the weekend. As I was falling asleep the first night, I had a dream that I said 'I love you' to him. I woke up immediately and he said, "Did you say something?" I said no.
A month later he said I love you but he didn't tell me until we were engaged that I DID say it in Montauk but he wanted me to say it while fully conscious so he could say it too!

At a party at Smithtown Landing CC 
We were having such a great time dancing, and I started tearing up....he asked what was wrong, so I said, "Nothing! I think I love you!"
He just hugged me tighter and didn't say anything...a couple days later, he said it back.

It was New Years Eve, 1 month into our relationship and we were laying on his bed getting ready to go to sleep and he leaned over (mind you I was kind of out of it) and said, "Good night, I love you" and like an idiot I turned over and said, "WHAT?" he goes, "That's not quite the response I was hoping for." then I told him I loved him back. We still laugh about it now.

We were only into a couple of weeks into our relationship (we knew each other for 6 months at this point). And his brother was away so he was watching their house. He invited me over for dinner and appetizers to dessert - he made ALL of my favorite things. I knew I loved him, but I had such a BAD relationship before him and I was sooo afraid to say it, but I just said it and he was like - finally I can say it to you - he was sooo afraid to say it to me - cause he was afraid he was going to push me away - it was soooo cute

Later on he asked me to get something, I got out of bed and he said "what did you say before?" I repeated it & he said "You're out of bed. It counts now."

He lived in CT. and we only saw each other once every three weeks. For over a year, I refused to be the first to say it so it never got said. It was the day before Valentines day and I was going to Florida for 4 weeks. We were in his parking lot saying good-bye and I just blurted it out. He was so happy but said "nice timing, I can't be late for work" but then he got very serious and said it back. (Sigh)

I do not remember when I said it to him, however, the first time he "said" it to me was only about 2 weeks after we started dating, and I KNEW already I loved him and wanted to marry him.
He emailed me a picture of myself, then wrote a story about a princess underneath it, then at the bottom, wrote, "See that princess I sent you a picture of? I love her and want to spend my life with her!" So, although he didn't say it verbally to me at that moment, that melted my heart. And the next time I spoke to him, I said, "So...you love me, huh?" And then he said it.

We had been dating for 6 months. It was the night he returned from a month long business trip to London. I knew I loved him way before that, but I was waiting for him to say it first. I will never forget how excited I was to see him, I missed him so much. I had butterflies in my stomach as I turned the corner to his house. He was waiting for me outside and I was so happy to be able to hold him again. We had a wonderful night and at the end of it, he wispered "I love you" in my ear and I told him I loved him too. It is one of my favorite memories.

We were dating for 7 months and we had actually gotten into a fight over his NOT saying it. I refused to say it first, but there were times when he would slip and we'd laugh, but it finally got to the point that I was getting peeved. I mean, we both felt it, we both knew the other one felt it, we showed it, but damnit, why couldn't he just say it??? So, it was Thanksgiving night and when he said it, I cried.

it was exactly 2 months and one day after Sept. 11th.
we were talking on the phone, when breaking news came on the t.v. about the plane crash in the Rockaways. we didn't know if it was another terrorist attack or what...but while we were talking, the tones went off, and he told me he had to go b/c his company was getting sent to the scene....i blurted out "I love you"...and he said it back... ...

OMG now that I think about this I was a real tool... Me and DH were 17 at the time and I beeped him with 143.. yes folks.. BEEPED him on his beeper with 143. Later that night I told him and he told me. Man that is retarded!
