spinoff to ultrascreen... 2 questions about the test

I realize it only provides probabilities, not yes/no answers.... So, what probability would be considered a possible + for downs or something else?

I'm 36, so something like 1:218 is the odds of downs for my age. Would 1:350 mean a likely (-) result? Would a likely (+) have to be about 1:75 or worse?

It seems like this test give you stats without any guidance on what they could mean!

The second question:
how long after the exam do you get the results from the sonogram portion... and when do the complete results (+ bloodwork) get reported?

I hope I don't have to wait 2 weeks before getting any results at all.... I'll go nuts!

1:350 is less than .3% chance. Thats pretty close to my chances.

The nurse gave us info while the doc was doing the sono part. The only issue was that we were focused on the screen and not what the nurse was saying. I plan on telling my doc that I am not fond of this practice - most patients would be too distracted when they see the baby on the screen

I got my results about a week and ahalf later. I think it depends on the office and labs they use.

Re: spinoff to ultrascreen... 2 questions about the test

I think my dr. told me that anything under 1:350 was considered a slightly elevated risk. He went over this when he called with the results of the ultrascreen.
They told me it could take 10-14 days to get the results. At just about 2 weeks, I couldn't stand waiting anymore, so I called to see if the results were in.
