spinoff to the car/hybrid posts-has anyone seen...
The TV ads & print ads for Nissans biggest SUV(I don't remember what its called)
There is a young dad, 35ish good looking with his little boy, about 5.
The narrator says something like
"he thinks of you as the biggest, best Dad. Shouldn't you have the biggest best truck so you really are?"
Have the fools of this great land of ours really become so brainwashed by the oil man in our white house & big oil companies & marketing that we BELIEVE that a big, gas guzzling truck will make us better parents or make our kids love us more???
Honestly, W T H is going on here?
Showing our kids that we are willing to suck dry every drop of oil left on this planet leaving nothing for future generations all while causing catastrophic global warming DOES NOT MAKE US GOOD PARENTS-or good people for that matter!
BTW, I'm surprised everyday during my commute how many SUVs are being driven by one person.
How did people get their abundance of crap & processed food home from COSTCO before SUVs?

I agree..I grew up with my brother and we never had SUVs. Then again, car seats were not the law..but still, plenty of folks have kids and don't have big trucks.
We are turning our Pathfinder in and I don't want another truck. It didn't make a difference for us.

I hate that commercial. Environmental concerns aside, it's just a stupid message--"Spend a lot of money to impress your kid!".
