What books (titles) do you generally read, or keep going back to? And how old is your DC?

DD is 4 months and my baby shower was book themed so we have a TON of books. We keep going back to

-The Gift of Nothing
-Bossy Bear (DH hates this book, I think its funny)
-Froggy bakes a cake
-The Little Red Hen
-The Lorax
-I love you because you're you
-Heaven is Having You

I want to get some other books (ones that I liked as a kid too--Curious George, Where the Wild Things Are, etc)

Bedtime Peek A Boo
Where is Baby's Mommy?
Wet Pet, Dry Pet, Your Pet, My Pet
The Foot Book
Goodnight Leo, A Swashbuckling Pirate Adventure (she sleeps with this one sometimes - she loooves Leo)

She'll be 2 in January. I couldn't read to her from about 8 months until 18 months, but now she likes it again.

Re: Spinoff to reading to kids at night

We usually give the books a week, then rotate.

I love the library. Whatever he is interested in that week, we read.

He is very into comets and metorshowers current, I hope this phase passesChat Icon I miss barnyard animals.

For Oct, we read a ton of Halloween books.

Now we picked up a few Thanksgiving books.

He memorizes Maisy books, so they are pretty much our go to books.

If the month has a holiday we observe (like November = Thanksgiving) we tend to read holiday books. Otherwise we alternate between some favorites.

Re: Spinoff to reading to kids at night

DS (10.5 months) LOVES the Very Hungry Caterpilar, he litteraly starts jumping up and down when he sees me reach for it.

He also really likes:
Little Quack
The Jolly Barnyard
and a Grover Book that I can't remember the title of..

He is getting better with the Dr. Suesse books, but they can still be a little long for him sometimes

The Foot Book is short and sweet for Dr. Seuss- definitely try that one! It's funny cuz I was so excited to read Green Eggs and Ham to her and then realized WOAH this is a LONG book! I totally forgot!Chat Icon

Thanks for the suggestion! I was really excited for the Seuss books too and end up reading them to myself because DS squirms out of my lap about halfway through Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to reading to kids at night

A few different Dr. Seuss books plus Clifford the Big Red Dog. I did not think I would be crazyt about Dr. Seuss but DS loves the rhythm and rhyme.
