Spinoff to planning next child? Is anyone not in Agreement w/ DH?

DH and I have a 6.5 mo DD. He has a daughter who will be 8 this year from a previous marriage. I'm 31 and want two more kids. Im ready to start now!!!; ) but willing to wait a little. He wants to wait 4 years!!?!?!? He is nervous about having another girl. He says he will be happy if its a girl, but he will need a 24 hr shock period to let it sink in. Also, if its a girl, then we will not have another child. Im not happy about this but I understand that he doesnt want to chance having 4 girls me and my mom around. lol.

I just feel like everyone else and their hubbies are on the same page and I dont know how to get on the same page with him.

DH and I are not on the same page right now, but we're both open to hearing the other's reasons and desires.

We won't try until we both feel comfortable.

We are on the same page. We want 3-4 kids no matter the gender, depending on $ situation.

Growing up it was us 3 girls and my mom. My dad survived

He will be ok with three girls ( i have a stepdaughter). Right now he has 2 girls. If our next is a girl. Then he will have three and doesnt want to risk survival with 4 girls. My mother also lives with us and he thinks we will attack him when they are older...lol

all in all i want three of my own. I understand his POV and am open to stopping, well dealing with that later, but I dont want to wait 4 years before having our next baby ; (

We currently have 3 girls. DH wants to try for another. He'd be happy with a girl or a boy.

i say when and if we get a bigger place i'll consider it. But 3 kids is expensive enough, one of us would need a second job and a nanny for all the activities the kids are in. Chat Icon

not sure. we are both undecided, but he is leaning more towards a different page than I am pretty much already on. Chat Icon

he will be happier agreeing with how I feel in the the end though, than I think I will be agreeing with him so I think I will "win".

Before even having DD we said 2 kids.
I would have had another one like yesterday Chat Icon DD is almost 9 months old.
DH got his GIRL Chat Icon that he always wanted so, I think he could really be one and done, and happy about it. DD is a good baby and I think he does not want to rock the boat. Also DD was a big adjustment for us in the beginning and DH is not in love with that newborn stage (lack of sleep ect...)
We have not sat down and spoke seriously about it quite yet but we will this summer and listen to each other and then make a decision

We always said two kids. Then we had our second and agreed that we wanted a third. As time went on I REALLY wanted a third, and DH didn't as much anymore.

I ended up with a surprise pregnancy and then had a miscarriage. Now, more than ever, I want a third baby. I was able to picture us as parents of three kids. I saw my little boys with a younger sibling. I got a taste of what it will be like and so now we will definately be going for the third.... DH knows that he has no choice in the matter now. Re: Spinoff to planning next child? Is anyone not in Agreement w/ DH?

we always said 2 ... after DS, I felt fulfilled with one. Not that he was a rough NB or infant or anything, but I had a rough, uncomfortable pregnancy and beyond that, it's just that I'm scared we can't provide for 2 what we could do for 1.

DH wanted to try again when DS was 2.5 yrs old.... I was leaning closer and closer to not having another. God had other plans, bc I'm currently 5+ mos along with DS2. Now that I'm thinking of my 2 boys together - brothers, best friends, partners in crime - I couldn't imagine stopping at 1.

i want to start trying when DS is 2-3. but DH wants to wait until DS is in kindergarten so we don't have 2 in daycare! i'm gonna be 31 and he'll be 37. i don't want him to be an old dad. i have a year to change his mind. Chat Icon

My DH feels the same way.

If we were on the same page, we'd definitely try for another.

Being that I'm 43 and he's 45, it's not like I have time on my side to convince him. So I'm slowly coming to accept that Ann will be an only child.

If we won Mega Millions though, I wouldn't give him the choice Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to planning next child? Is anyone not in Agreement w/ DH?

I have two step sons. I have one son and I am pg with my 2nd son.

DH and I agreed to definitely have one together (being that he already had two children). He knew I really wanted two of my own, and in time... 3 1/2 years to be exact, came around to going for my second and his fourth. We are on the same page now that we are DONE!

Re: Spinoff to planning next child? Is anyone not in Agreement w/ DH?

DH & I are not on the same page right now. We have 2 little boys that were both blessings but only 10.5 months apart. I am not ready to say I am done, because honestly my 1 pregnancy went into the other & I feel like I do want to go through it again (not only to try for the girl). DH says he is 100% sure he is done.

We have agreed, to not making any harsh decisions until our youngest is at least 2 yrs old. There are days now though that I am realizing that I just "might" be done but I am not ready to commit to it

It was a compromise.

I don't want to ever be pregnant again.
He never wants an infant in our home ever againChat Icon

so our shop is closed...but i know i want to foster-adopt down the road...he is on board with that.

what is funny is that is what i say! To be fair I HATED being pregnant and had a very difficult one at that (my mom passed away when i was 7 months along). I've come around trying for a second one in the fall. We are both fairly young, (i'm 30 and he is 31) but I have endometriosis.
