I thought this would be interesting...

if you lived in NO during Katrina, knowing full and well that you live below sea level and that it could very easily happen again, would you stay there or move?

It's pretty easy to stand outside the situation and say "wow, what silly people, staying even though they know it very well might happen again." But, it seems like most of us are still here in NY after the terrorist attacks Chat Icon Very similar situation IMO.

It's the greatest city on earth so my answer would be yes. There are a lot of places that could be hit by a hurricaine such as the Outer Banks, southern Texas, Florida....people still live there and vacation there.

I would probably go back if I still felt it was my home.

I don't think Katrinas come along often enough to move.

I was thinking of that too. After 9/11, experts said NY would be a target of another terrorist attack in the next 10 years. We have 4 more left on that.

Me too... and the news always talks about how Long Island would be impossible to evacuate if IT was hit by a big hurricane....
