What is in your crib? Is it just for sleeping or does DC have toys and or comfort items in their crib?

DS sleeps with a blankie, with his quilt, he has a stuffed animal and a Baby Einstein thinger that he can play with if he wakes up.

And he goes to sleep on his own and hangs out in his crib on his own in the morning too....

Re: Spinoff to Donna's post

Alex has an afghan (crocheted blanket) and a bunny lovie. And a music box in the far corner.

To me, it's the same as what is recommended for an adult - the crib is for sleeping only.

I put her in and she goes right to sleep, whether it's for a nap or at night. No crying, no fussing, no confusion.

I've been tempted to let her play in it, but I don't want to screw anything up. So she plays on the floor, and sleeps in her crib.

We have the comforter folded all the way at the bottom of the crib with some toys. DS is swaddled at night and cant move around much so there isnt any danger.

Re: Spinoff to Donna's post

I don't give him a whole lot to play with at night, but I do make sure to put him in there sometimes during the day to just sit and play in.

He knows the difference between day play in the crib with toys, etc. and nighttime in the crib, with the soother and no toys.

I want him to be comfortable in it so it's not seen as a punishment/banishment.

But that's just what works for us.

We have quiet time toys in there and one blanket. The toys are a lovie, a lullaby teddy bear and a lullaby glow worm.

Re: Spinoff to Donna's post

I was gonna post this. My SIL has her daughters crib sooo comfy.

Noah loves pillows, so last night I put one in there and took it out once he was asleep. I wish I could find a really FLAT one.

I have two blankies, one under his head..his teddy and a blanket over him, his comfy blankie and a toy or two , for when he wakes up.

Re: Spinoff to Donna's post

I have nothing in the crib - not even bumpers anymore.

No toys - I wanted him to know that the crib is for sleeping not playing. It seems to work for us now - who knows though- things always change.

well DD is pretty lazy when it comes to moving around-she has an afghan rolled up long ways (like a snoogle!) she likes it against her side for some reason. it's not near her face. there is the ocean wonders aquarium thing and thats it. there are bumpers too. she loves her crib and almost begs to go to sleep when it's time!

Re: Spinoff to Donna's post

DD is only about 3.5 months so nothing is in her crib. but she loves the mobile and the bumpers so she chats with those when she wakes up in the morning.

Re: Spinoff to Donna's post

I put her flannel blankie in w/ her, her bunny lovie, a small teddy bear, her FP aquarium is still attached, her bumpers and about 5 pacifiers.

Right now we don't have anything except a blanket but once the sun starts to come back up earlier I am going to put a soft toy or two in there for him.
