Spinoff to christening centerpieces

Has anybody used balloons? I think they are nice and fun looking, but are they too "birthday party"? Is something more "elegant" or low-key usually used?

I had balloons aside from centerpieces on each table. It looked great IMO. The centerpieces alone were not enough and I was glad i got balloons. Lots of places sell nice Christening balloons.

My restaurant has high ceilings and they asked us nicely not to use balloons. Only because we are having kids and parents ten to break off balloons for their kids and the place has a hard time getting them down. I don't think balloons are a bad centerpiece though. Most Christenings I've gone to have had them Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to christening centerpieces

We had my DD's christening last weekend at a catering hall, and the balloons were perfect! I was hesitant at first because i thought they would also look too 'birthday party', but I used light pink and ivory and was very happy with how it looked!

HOWEVER, I definitely second what the other poster said about parents ripping the balloons off -- i couldn't believe how many people were taking them apart an hour or so into the party Chat Icon.

Hopefully your guests will be a little more respectful than mine Chat Icon
