I think it's too young. Unless someone has a "major" deformity, I think it's best to wait for your body (and mind!) to mature so you can make a real informed decision.

But what about the girl/boy who hated soething about themselves their entire life?? They KNOW for a fact that they're going to get the work done no matter what...why not at 17/18years old?

Well you are talking about specifics?

Breast augmentations: no. I think the body of a woman needs to mature a bit. Maybe early 20's
Nose job: maybe depending on the "severity".
teeth work: yes.

I don't think most people who are doing those procedures are really "hating" themselves.

I have heard parents doing is as a gift. The reason one dad said to have a breast augmentation for his 15 year old daughter "she will have an advantage when entering the workforce".

I wasn't talking specifics just any procedure (except Breast Augmentation- since that was being discussed in the other thread)

I think it depends on the severity. A teen being teased (with huge self-esteem issues) with an "ugly" nose. I would consider it to be OK.

Doing it because it's not "perfect". No, I would not agree to do it for a teen.

I don't think it's a good idea. In general, I don't think teens are mature enough to make a decision this serious, even if it is something they are being teased about.

I also think a person should be completely grown before taking such a drastic step.

I actually think nose jobs are better done when you are in your teens. This way people get to know your new look at an earlier age.

Half the girls i went to high school with came back from 10th grade Christmas break with new noses. I was used to it. I was also blessed to have a decent nose or I would have wanted mine fixed too.
