Spinoff from my Er post on Celebs. The importance of organ donating

This episode reminds me of what happen to me just almost 3 short years ago. I remember every day that Keith's organs saved

a 9 year old little girl... i gave back parents their little girl. who is now 12 and playing sports

a 20 year old young lady went on to get married and have children

and a 50 year old man went back to his wife, children, and now grand children.

This is why it is SOOOO important to organ donate.

if you are worried about the drs. not doing everything to save you YOU ARE DEAD WRONG!!!

this is the joy that helps me get through everyday, I SAVED 3 LIVES!!!!!

When Andrew passed away his organs were donated....

Because of a collaborative effort, and Edwards very difficult, but courageous decision about what to donate, Andrew's life is passed on to others.
It has always been the twins instinct to help others in need, ALWAYS!

These are the lives that Andrew touched:

46 year old man that received Andrew's right kidney is doing really well
(the gentleman that was waiting since July of 1996 for a transplant due to chronic glomerulonephritis~ on dialysis for 14 years)

The 38 year old man that received Andrew's left kidney is doing well and says "thank you so much" he is as single father raising his child.

The 52 year old women who received Andrew's pancreas is now cured of her type 1 diabetes. She had been waiting for a transplant since July of 2000. She is doing great.

The 52 year old gentleman that received his liver unfortunately passed away on August 20, 2004

The 19 year old girl that received Andrew's heart is doing really well.
She was a "Status 1A" patient with less than 7 days to live, due to cardiomegaly.

I got to meet the woman who received Andrews pancreas...Organ donation is amazing... It's like your loved one is still around you
