i'm talking about over the counter stuff, not prescription from the doctor. just curious. i have never given DD1 anything and she is almost 2 1/2...every sniffle or cough my mother goes on and on about how I should be giving her something.

Charlie is 29 months...the only meds she has taken were prescribed (albuterol). I'm not big on OTC meds for myself so I def don't like the idea of giving them to her.

I am big on saline nose sprays and nose suckers Chat Icon AND she loves them both lol

Julianne - I was thinking about this too. I've given Anthony benedryl for hives so I was thinking I could give it to him to dry up some of his congestion. I'm just too nervous. The last time I was at the ped, they still didn't suggest cold medicine so I haven't given anything. I'm curious to see what others do.

at 15 or 16 months the doctor told me I could give 2 ml of Dimeatapp. It was great. It's not a miracle worker but, it stopped the runny nose and made him comfortable when he was super sick.

ETA: she told me for congestion, coughing, runny nose to give Dimetapp and for just runny nose and sneezing to give Benedryl. Same dose. Liam is 25 pounds.

DS#1 has had some OTC medicine, but a few years ago they said no to under 4-6, so they haven't had any since then - DS#2 has never had anything except tylenol/motrin - he's 3.5

DD is will be 3.5 next month - I don't give her anything - I give extra fluids, humidifier, warm showers, saline drops (which is a fight).
