Speaking of Generic formula--Does anyone know

do they make a generic for Nestle Good Start?

Was at Target and saw the Generic of Enfamil Lipil and Similac Advance.

TIA!

Re: Speaking of Generic formula--Does anyone know

Well, since Good Start is made with Whey Protein and is supposed to be "gentler" than regular formula, the generic gentlease would probably be the most comparable.

I remember with DS that Goodstart was the el cheapo version when it came to formula and was much much cheaper than the rest. Now it's right up there with the others and in some stores it's actually more than Similac and Enfamil.

Which is why I used it with DD!!! It makes me wonder what changed b/c I've yet to hear any dr. rec. it (I used it so I know there's really no reason not to). My mom also used it for my sister b/c it was the cheapest one out there. Odd how for 10 years (time between my sister and my DD) it was the cheapie and now 6 years after DD, it's not (this could've changed before now, but I wouldn't know as I haven't had babies in between).

Maybe b/c they are marketing it as the closest to breast milk? My friend who is a L&D nurse said that is what she uses if she has to supplent.

I thought it was cheaper b/c the cans were bigger...

Our Dr actually told us to go to the Good Start. DS was on Similac Advance, but was spitting up alot and not burping.

THe cheapest I've found the 32oz RTF was at BRU in Brooklyn, reg. 4.99 sale 4.69

I think it got more expensive when they added the DHA ARA (hence the breastmilk claim). The cans are the same size as the other brands. They have the 25.2 ounce or whatever it is for like $25 and then they have the smaller can that runs around $12 (if you can even find that size anywhere).

I started out using that with Emma because I *thought* it was as cheap as it was when DS was on it, but quickly realized it wasn't and she didn't do good on it. Her poop was dark dark green and she had smelly farts all day long Chat Icon
