Speaking of c-sections...

I have two questions...

1) Does feeling ever come back fully to the incision site?

2) What's up with that pouchy-thing above the scar? Some friends told me every mom has that c-section or not; I thought it was because of being sewn up there. So, does that ever go away???

i have had two csections. i dont have feeling in my incision site. my doc said, some women get feeling back, some dont. and as for the pouchy thing, i know exactly what your talking about. mine has flattened out a bit. but i still have it there.

I try not to touch it as I am still kinda freaked out by it, but it does not really have feeling. If anything its sort of tingly, like the nerves were cut. I have a scar on my knee that is the same.

RE: Pouch
No idea, mine too is a pouch ..even before the baby Chat Icon

After 6 months I have some feeling. As for the pooch. I had it a while ago and now it's gone. My stomach was pretty flat before the baby though.

Re: Speaking of c-sections...

Why doesn't anyone tell us about these issues during the "c/s talk". I never touch my scar as it is a very painful reminder of something for me but the pouch thing...I don't think my body will ever be the same post surgery. They cut into your stomach muscles. They are hard to get back into shape.

At 5 mos pp I have almost all feeling back at the incision site but I don't know what you mean by the pouch... I guess I don't have it.
