Sorta Parenting Related - Anxiety About Flying...

We have a wedding to go to out of state in a couple of weeks and I still have not booked a flight! Mainly because I am terrified of flying. The drive would be about 9 hours and we would have to leave here the day of the wedding and return the next day because we are not bringing dc.

I have been pushing dh to drive, which for obvious reasons he is refusing. Intellectually I KNOW it's so many times safer to fly than to drive 9 hours on the interstate, but for some reason the thought of flying right now is giving my great anxiety and I think it's the idea of me and dh flying without the kids. It may be irrational, but I even start thinking of flying separately, but then I think I would freak out by myself.

ETA: I have flown many times and even with dc, so I don't know why I'm feeling like this.

Please make me feel better about this

I live in another country from my family and I hate to fly. But I know it's the only way I'm going to get to see them. You know it's a ton safer than driving - I know it's hard to really really believe that.

But it will be okay. Think of your friends and how much you being there will mean to them.

Is it just you and DH going? THe kids are staying here? That would give me more of a reason to want to fly b/c it's faster and this way you get to see your kids sooner.

It'll be ok. I've always flown my whole life everywhere. Even when I was 10 years old by myself. With all the reports in the news it does scare me, but it's faster and safer to fly then drive.
