Sooo...I'm going ice skating tomorrow for the first time

This is part of my date with DH How hard is it? Should I expect to be able to balance at all my first time?

do you know how to roller skate? if so then you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly- just hold on to DH until you do... have fun!

It's not that different from roller skating? I haven't been roller skating in 10 years at least!

for me - i just try not to put too much weight on the balls of my feet - the back of my feet - i try my hardest to stay centered, bend my knees a wee bit and just stay flat-footed with a little more weight on my toes - just a bit. it's hard to explain but when you are on the ice you'll see - so many people lean back or put their wait on the balls of their feet and fall right on their butts over and over. when you first get on just hold onto the sides until you get the hang of it.
