Sono at 5 weeks 5-6 days UPDATE!
I had my first sono today at 5wks 5-6 days and we could only see an empty sac. No yolk :( Doctor said she is cautiously optimistic but could be abnormal or ectopic.
Did anyone only see a sac this far along? I have another appt on Tuesday. I will be praying until then!

Update: my doctor called me today and told me to come in straight away because my HCG levels were really good and empty sac didnt make sense. I went in and they used the better machine with the sono tech (yesterday my OB just used a roll-in). There was a yolk sac, fetal pole and they saw a *flicker* but can't 100 percent confirm heartbeat yet. My OB was super happy. She canceled my appt for Tues and I go back in ten days. I feel so much better!!! Please send sticky dust and prayers if you can!!!

I went at 5 weeks and 2 days because of spotting and only saw a sac. I have measured 6 days behind this whole pregnancy. I waited till 8 weeks to go back to have the best chance of hearing a heartbeat and we did :) It was very stressful but try to sit back and realx. At 6 weeks my cat pressed up against my belly amd purred away. I looked at my husband with the biggest smile on my face and said we have a heartbeat. Who needs a dr when you have a cat.

I went today and am about the same as you are in terms of how far along you are. There were two empty sacs as far as I could see and the RE I see said it all looked normal. I read online too that it is perfectly normal to see only a sac at this point.

I really hope it's normal. I saw some posts on here where people saw the hb at 6 weeks so I'm worried that I don't even have a yolk sac. My OB used a ghetto pull in US machine though and didn't send me to the high tech one so I wonder if there's a chance she just missed the yolk sac? Praying!!

I don't mean to sound like the downer of the group, but I will be honest- this happened to me about a year and a half ago. I went at 5wk6d and only saw a sac. I was TERRIFIED it was going to be a blighted ovum because at that stage, I was pretty sure we should be seeing some action going on - like a yolk, a fetal pole ...
Well, I went in a couple of days later, and magically, there was a heartbeat. It was slow, and never picked up after several appts over 2 weeks. It was also consistently measuring behind.
By some point in the 7th week and measuring like a week behind, we lost the pregnancy.
For what it's worth, at the time my doctor said it could go either way so that leads me to believe this CAN be ok - and I'm VERY sorry to share my story with you, given the outcome, but it's on;y honest. Hopefully you will be a success story though, it happens all the time, especially if your timing is off for when you actually conceived! Good luck! FM if you have any questions.

My first sono@ 5 weeks my re said there wasn't anything really to see so I didn't even get to see anything. But 6 weeks it was a different story. You could see a tiny heartbeat. I swear the date measurements for each person are different and we freak ourselves out. Take another week and I'm sure you will see much more. Hang in there.

Thank you for your honesty. I'm still holding out hope but I know it's good to hear the good and the bad! I'm sorry you went through that but how exciting for you now! I love success stories!
