Some wierd guy just gave me the heebie-jeebies
I'm paranoid...I admit it, but this really made me nervous!
I went to go get the mail. In our apartment complex the mailboxes are located in a walk-way w/ an overhang. Anyway, when I walked in this guy was at the other end talking on the phone, or so I thought. He starts yelling "hello, hello, hello". I did not say anything, just got my mail and preceded to walk back, but he began to follow me yelling "hello". He then says "can I talk to you?". I was so scared he was going to follow me all the way back to my apartment. Stupidly, I turned around and said "what?!". He says "I like you". I said "yeah, well, I'm married"...turned around and booked it as fast as I could. Luckily he did not follow me past the gate. It may have been me being stupid and paranoid, but guys should know better not to follow a woman. I just got this feeling in my gut that made me so uncomfortable!
Did I over-react?

No way did you over-react! I would be SO creeped out. Are the mailboxes inside or outside? Does the guy live in your bldg? If so, maybe you can mention it to your Super or someone?

NO, you did not overreact at all!!!! what kind of a sane man just yells out "i like you" to a complete stranger???? i would've ran and told the superintendant about the incident as well! it should be documented if there's a nutjob running around!

I would have freaked out too! Maybe he was mentally handicapped or he could just be a nut-job! I'd be taking a phone with me to the mailbox everyday now!
