2) Do i give whole bottle before bed of formula or do i mix a little fomula in to each botlle with the BM?

3) Am i better buying the RTF formula or powder if i dont plan on using it all teh time?

4) If i use RTF how long does it last in the fridge?

5) if i use the poswder hwo much do i need to use ata time and do i make a little at a time or make like a whole container and keep that in the frdige and use it as i go? How long does it last in thefridge?

I'll try to help since I BF and supplement with EBM and formula.

During the day, I tend to let her feed on demand at my breast. She's a very lazy eater and she will feed for over an hour at times. If she has been at the breast for a long time and I have to go somewhere, I will offer her 2 oz of formula or EBM(If I have some). Sometimes she takes it, sometimes she doesn't.

I usually only offer her formula after she has breastfed. I don't want her to associate me with a bottle. I started with 2 oz. If DH feeds her, he gives her 4 oz but she's 4 weeks old now.

I don't mix fomula with breastmilk.

RTF stays good for about 24 hours after it is opened. You can't reuse formula she left over after 1/2 hour or so.

I use both the RTF and mix. The mix is makes more sense she she doesn't always get that much of it so I don't want to open an 8oz can and she only takes 21 oz before it has to be thrown out.

I hope this helps.

I didn't mix BM and formula - maybe at the end (near 1 year).

I used the powder, because I didn't use much formula each day and the quarts would have gone bad. You can get formula in 8 oz small cans, but it's not cost effective (I kept them for emergencies)

Ok i plan on BF and using formula..

1) When and how much formula do i give?

Newborns take about an ounce or so the first couple days of life. I BF until 4 months, and i BF on demand, she ate about every 2 hours for about 30 mins.

2) Do i give whole bottle before bed of formula or do i mix a little fomula in to each botlle with the BM?

I never mixed BM and formula.

3) Am i better buying the RTF formula or powder if i dont plan on using it all teh time?

I would use the powder, it stays fresh for 30 days after you open it. RTF are only good for 72 hours after opening, then spoil. Plus the powder is a little thinner, more like BM.

4) If i use RTF how long does it last in the fridge?

it's 72 hours after it's opened

5) if i use the poswder hwo much do i need to use ata time and do i make a little at a time or make like a whole container and keep that in the frdige and use it as i go? How long does it last in thefridge?

I make enough to feed her, a scoop equals 2 ounces, i do not keep it in the fridge, after you make it, it's only good for 24 hours.

I know the times etc, vary, depending on the mom/ped, but i go by what the packaging says.
