So whats this test
that is going to cost me about $600 because its not covered by insurance. I just got back from my RE and my head is realing with info. He is supposed to e-mail me a summary of everything he told me, but apparently there is a test he wants to do (I think it tests for the auto immune problems maybe)
Anyone know what i'm talking about?

yes... its called the DQ Alpha test..
i had this done.. and there is no set price.. its just what the insurance wont cover..
i got a bill for $150.. thats how much mine was..
make sure its the same test..

Oh really? Ok so maybe its not that they don't cover it, just maybe they don't cover all of it? Did I remember correctly that it is to test for auto immune issues.
Oh and THANK YOU!!! I loved dr braverman. What a nice guy! Anxious to get started with all the tests as soon as DH gets back and AF shows up.

yea he gave you a number to call right?
i dont think it was that much.. i dont know why he said 600... make sure its the same test we are talking about..

Well they gave me a number to call for the sperm test...the DNA fragmentation or something. The girls in the office are supposed to send me information about the other test. I'll be able to tell more when I get that I guess.

plus $154 for DH's dq-alpha test

I ended up paying about $400 and my insurance paid like $200 
MAKE SURE you do the Safeguard payment when they send it to you otherwise it could cost you up to $1200!

I am considering seeing Braverman if my cycle with East Coast is unsuccessful. They think "nothing" is medically wrong with me but I have some underlying concerns.
Can someone please explain this testing that Braverman does? Why would this be out of pocket for some and not others? I have 100% coverage for fertility diagnosis and meds and lifetime max on IVF ($10K). What category does this test fall under exactly....just want to know what to expect...
