So, Saturday I took DS to the Dr, he officially has his first cold---I have a couple quesitons...
He was prescribed Zithromax. So far he's doing okay. But due to the phlegm he coughs up, it's gagging him and causing him to vomit. This MOST always happens after I feed him his formula bottle. I have since cut it down to like 3-4 ozs not his regular 6ozs.
Is this okay? I also have been giving him Pedialite w/a little water (he wont drink it straight) and some apple juice (1/2 juice 1/2 water).
He DOES eat solids, so I try to give him that at feedings but he's not eating as much as usual.
He is playing here and there. I am concerned about germs staying on his toys. Should I clean/disinfect his toys? If so, how, esp the jumperoo and soft toys/

How old is he? It might impact the answers.
Also, are you sure it is just a cold? I didn't think that medications worked for a cold.

i also was wondering about cleaning the toys. i just wiped down his hard toys with soap and water but i'm not sure about the cloth toys that aren't machine washable.
if you're cutting down his bottles, have you increased the amount of times you offer them? i may offer an in between feeding just in case. also just make sure he's making enough wet diapers.

I use Clorox Anywhere to clean the play stations and toys.
I also throw any small stuff in the dishwasher.
Hope he feels better soon!

Hey Jill!!! Oh boy, doesn't sound like Troy is doing much better  Hugs to both of you!!! 
My friends Mom who is a nurse, cleaned all the toys w/ the Clorox Anywhere spray in a bucket of water.
Other than spraying the jumperoo down and wiping it, not sure if you can take the material part off and wash it (since I haven't used it yet) LOL ...

I use the term cold as a generic. He has some chest congestion and a fever.

Thanks! I will try and head out and get some. Sebastian (DH) is at work, as is my brother, so it's just me and my little (sick) man celebrating New Years....I'm sure we'll BOTH be passed out well before midnight!
