So I needed to do a little modified CIO last night and she threw herself out of her crib
Last night Sabrina got a little out of hand. She took 2 hours to settle down and I decided to put her in the crib and walk away for a few minutes. Well I walked away and then heard a loud thump. I don't know how but she hurled herself out of her crib. Thankfully she is okay and was up walking in a matter of seconds but now I am at a loss. If I need to CIO, what do I do to prevent her from doing this again?
I am so upset over this. And the worst thing is that DH has been away all week and my mom has been sleeping over and she was there when it happened and chewed me a new one because of what I did. She thought I should have called her for backup. She made me feel really bad
Sorry, I guess I just need hugs.

I fear this all the time when I'm doing CIO w/Kristina... prematurely as she's not even crawling yet.....
It DEF could have been ANY ONE OF US!!!!!

It's been a while for me, but we used a tent made specifically for the crib. It was great.

You are such an awesome mom as evidenced in your beautiful and bright daughter! We all have moments like that. I wish I was there tio give you a hug, laugh and go get a cup of coffee or a pint of ice cream

Is your crib on the lowest setting? If so, then get the crib tent. Works like a charm.

Kris is finally home so I hope things start to become normal again.

Thanks everybody. Yes, the crib is on the lowest position. I think DD just had the adrenalin to do what she did. She doesn't normally climb out of her crib. She was kind of crazed, sort of possessed in her action.
DH is home now so hopefully we can go back to life as normal and everything will be okay.

I can't believe she was so strong-willed she threw herself out of the crib.

You didn't do anything wrong. i would suggest a crib tent though. We got one when DD jumped out of the crib and I could not live without it.
