So, I got ripped a new one b/c the grades in my dept were so low.....
Like it is my fault that the students don't come to school, do homework, cut class...etc....I didn't realize that I could rule the world!

That is one of the reasons why I stepped down from being a coach- grades weren't an issue, but I was so tired of being held accountable for what the teachers and students were doing. You're NOT a supervisor and it's totally unfair.

In all seriousness, I cannot make a student write the essay, even if we have done them in parts in the class..I can't make them come to school...And you are right, I am not the supervisior, and I would much rather be teaching a full load this year!
I will be looking for a new position for next year. I stayed at this job b/c I got pregnant over the summer...then miscarried!

Believe me, I know. It's unfair to expect us to be accountable for certain things. There is no accountability on the parents. Good luck!

You have to remember you are doing your best w the kids you've got, and you can only *help* them so much...funny though, sometimes others dont see it as that....try not to stress (are you an ELA coach?)
