Sliding Doors In Kitchen

We are in the process of renovating our main floor..

here is the question we have sliding doors from our kitchen that go out to the deck. What would you girls put on the doors for window treatments.

I wasn't sure if I should put fabric since its in the kitchen and I am always cooking..

If you have to order the doors then I would get Pella doors that have the blinds built in. If you have stand doors then I would go with curtains. They are easy enough to take off and clean if need be. I still don't have have any window coverings on my sliding doors but when we change the door out one day we are putting in the Pella ones.

the house we *plan* on buying (if the bank ever approves the sale!) has sliding doors in the family room that go out to the patio - the family room is off the kitchen, its kind of like a great room - and then there is also a window in the kitchen....we plan on doing plantation shutters on both the sliding door in the family room and on the window in the kitchen...

We have these in our DR which is open to our Kitchen and LR. (Great Room)

I bought the Pella with the blinds in them. I figure I can get a valence for decoration and change it up every so often.

we just have a curtain. i feel very exposed but dh doesn't like the way anything else looks

On my kitchen sliders I have panels on a rod with ring clips so they easily slide out of the way. I wouldn't worry about the fabric being a problem in the kitchen as long as you don't go with a silk fabric or something like that.

In my family room I have the Pella sliders with the blinds inside and LOVE them! I just put a valance over the top.

We have an 8 foot... it was around $3500 installed.

We have french doors and we don't have any window treatments on them. We love being able to look into our backyard.
