Sleep ?s for 6 month olds (give or take)- and BTDTs too

How long does your DC sleep for at night? [Not including if they wake up during the night still. I mean from start to finish with the waking(s).] My DS goes to bed around 9p and wakes around 7p. No matter what I do, I cannot get him to sleep for more than 10 hours, and I can't seem to get him into bed any earlier either. But I feel like he's supposed to be sleeping for about 12.

How many hours total does your DC sleep- including naps? We're at about 13 to 14 hrs.

Just trying to gage what "normal" is. Thanks Chat Icon

I think that is normal. My DS started sleeping 10-12 hours straight through at about 8 months old.

That sounds about right - my DD will be 6 months soon & sleeps about 101/2 to 11 hours a night, but doesn't take long naps.

DS sleeps 10 1/2 hours (with SEVERAL wakings). His total naps range anywhere from another 1 1/2 to 4 hours. Doctor said a wide range is normal. DC will sleep when he/she needs to sleep. For example, if he/she doesn't get enough night sleep, they will make up for it during the day.

Thanks. I feel like I'm beating myself up every night trying to get him down earlier than 9p. But as long as he's getting enough sleep, I'll just relax and enjoy the time with him since he's in daycare 4 days a week.

We have several waking too. But he's never up very long (except for the times when a tooth was on its way in Chat Icon ).

At 5 months Lucas sleeps from 7:30 pm to 5 or 6 am.

The times when he wakes at 6am are usually when he has had one or two wakes between.

DS is 7months and sleeps from 7pm to 6:30am. Sometime he might wake a little earlier, like 5:30, but if I run in and give him the paci he'll usually go back for another hour.

He usually takes 3 naps a day but they vary in length...may a total of another 3 hours.

She sleeps about 12 hours at night (no wake-ups) and takes two naps of approximately an hour--the AM one is typically a bit longer though, while the PM one is a bit shorter.

DD usually goes to bed around 6:30/7pm and wakes up around 5/5:30 On average I'd say she gets about 10 to 10 1/2 hours of sleep each night. Sometimes after her morning bottle she'll go back to sleep for another 45 minutes to an hour. Lately all bets are off because she's been sick and then she started teething, so I don't even know what is normal for her anymore!

DS goes to bed at 7:30pm-8pm and sleeps until 8am or so. He usually wakes up once for a pacifer around 2am and then for a feeding anywhere between 4am-6:30am
